Plain Facts About Exercise Bikes You Should Know...

This knowledge on exercise bikes should be precisely what you are looking for.

Around the New Year I start noticing how fat I've got. The holiday time goes very well for me, in fact so well, that towards the draw of the New Year, I often have to deal with a spare tire around my midriff. At times such as these, I'm tempted to buy an exercise bike.

My first exercise bike I bought over a decade ago. It was a fairly plain piece of equipment and looked like one half of a regular bike.

And it was mechanically operated, with a plain belted-up gear contraption that you tightened with your hand as you went along.

You know, I spent more time amazed at that first exercise bike than actually using it for what it was meant and it slowly but constantly faded away from my memory. New Year came about this year and I decided to get myself another exercise bike.

Well, there's a health and fitness store just around the corner from where I live and I went there to seek out my darling exercise bike. Upon entering and asking the manager where the exercise bike section was, I was guided to the second floor of the store. I'm not kidding; the entire floor area was dedicated to exercise bikes! I tell you. Boy had I missed out on the exercise bike trend or what! What I discovered next assured me that I was too far cut off from the exercise bike trend to ever hope to stage a comeback now.

My Experience Wanting to Buy An Exercise Bike

The exercise bike I used to own was an antique now. The new age exercise bikes were radically different bikes. For one thing, the word "simple" or the phrase "ease of use" seemed to have been thrown out of the window when these new age exercise bikes were designed.

None of them were plain to understand, much less operate. There were exercise bikes with bikes with magnetic resistance, motorized resistance, even more exercise bikes with wind load resistance and even friction-free resistance! What ever happened to the plain old resistance belt'

It seems as though most of the new age exercise bikes needed to be plugged up to the power source as they came with in-built computers which monitored the lot from your heart rate. Anyway, they need a power source to run the group of sensors that the exercise bike employs to monitor different bodily functions and rates.

Most of them have a digital display LCD, speed, distance and calories, electronic monitor charts for time, pulse monitors, heart-rate monitors and a whole range of modern allied equipment.

I tell you, this made me think. If I was going to invest all my time hooking up these allied monitors to various extremities of my body, where was I ever going to find the time to really get on to the exercise bike and 'train''
